Anaesthetists are in high demand across New Zealand. Many of our medical personnel are employed by District Health Boards. To practise in New Zealand, anaesthetists must apply to the Medical Council of New Zealand for registration and a current practising certificate. This process may include a qualification assessment. To be eligible for a work visa and/or residency under the Government’s Long Term Skill Shortage List you will need Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. You will also need to be registered within a provisional vocational or vocational scope of practice with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ). We can assist you with this process.
